Boston Marathon Run

John Hargrove will run in the Boston Marathon April 18 on behalf of the American Liver Foundation and in memory of his son Jimmy
Our classmate John Hargrove will be running the Boston Marathon on Patriot’s Day – Monday, April 17th – on behalf of the American Liver Foundation. The inspiration has been the memory of his son, Jimmy, who he and his wife, Mary Cheryl, lost in 2009 to complications stemming from liver failure.

Here are John’s own words –
“Jimmy would have turned 39 April 10th, and my tribute to him is a means of raising dollars for liver research. The cause is very compelling because the statistics are alarming – one in ten Americans, from infants to the elderly, has liver disease. I cannot do the research, but I can do my part by running in support. And, of course, I will finish. I understand the challenges of marathons as I have run New York several times, and this one is full of inspiration. Jimmy will be with me every step of the way!”

If you would like to support our John’s efforts at any amount, just click on the link below and follow the prompts. (The picture on the link is of his two sons, Jimmy on the left and Johnny on the right.)
